At the end of January, our colleague Patricia Kastner visited a hydropower plant in Brazil. This plant saves around 20,000 tons of CO2 each year and provides 40,000 people with emission-free power.
Electricity often makes up one of the largest shares in corporate emissions. Most of these CO2 emissions can be avoided by transitioning to renewable energy sources.
Our carbon offset project in Uganda saves carbon emissions through access to clean drinking water. As part of the "Improved Kitchen Regimes" programme, existing boreholes are being rehabilitated and converted into functioning drinking water wells.
