This can be achieved through climate projects that not only reduce, avoid, or remove greenhouse gas emissions, but also improve the lives of local people.
On 28 February 2024, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) released their guidance on how companies should engage in beyond value chain mitigation (BVCM). The Above and Beyond report gives practical guidance to companies on how to build a strategy for BVCM. The guidance does however leave a question open.
