Each tree counts: Our regional projects continue to run

12,000 trees purify to 6.5 million litres of water

Together with our customers almost 12,000 trees were planted as part of their regional project support in the previous year. Even if the associated join-in events could not take place this spring - the Planting Trees project continues!

The early drought in April this year and first forest fires have shown how vulnerable the forest ecosystem still is. By planting different tree species and creating a more mixed forest, forests become more resistant to climate change. They also cool down the ambient air and filter rainwater into drinking water.

Last year alone, we – together with our customers – planted almost 12,000 trees. Since it is assumed that 1,000 trees can purify approx. 500,000 liters of water, according to calculations by the German Forest Protection Association, these tree planting campaigns purified a total of almost 6.5 million liters of water in a natural way. This is active, regionally effective environmental protection, which we were able to realize with the support of our customers.

Due to current health protection regulations, we are unfortunately unable to offer the popular join-in campaigns for tree planting for the time being. Regardless of this restriction, however, all currently running tree planting projects are still ongoing and are carried out by the German Forest Protection Association and the respective foresters.

Companies who wish to continue to make their commitment to climate protection visible in the context of special events are invited to reach out to our contact persons directly for individual arrangements.

Our interview (in German) with Martin Kreiliger, Head of the Mountain Forest Project Switzerland and our colleague Robin Stoffers, Manager Carbon Offset Projects, provides information about regional project work involving the planting and reforestation of forests under corona conditions and what is important when planting.
